Denis ZANDVLIET

Education
  • Graduate from Ecole Centrale de Paris (1979)
  • Doctor-Engineer in Earth Mechanics and Structure (1982)
Professional Experience

Denis has 27 years of experience in IS/IT Services and Consulting.  He worked in global companies like Ernst & Young, Olivetti and LogicaCMG.

He started as quality engineer for software developments.  He managed and supervised dozens of projects for the benefits of manufacturing, financial, service, energy and public companies.

IT/IS Projects concerned hardware operations, software development, software maintenance and ERP implementation.  He also performed IT/IS audits and increased software performances.

As consultant, he managed organizational projects.  He defined KPI, evaluated business processes, valuated their costs & benefits, designed processes, wrote procedures and charters, and helped change management for various business sectors.

As manager, he developed new IT/IS services (outsourcing, E-document…).  He was in charge of sales and development departments and IS services business unit (90 engineers).  He built up tools to forecast load of work (and so profit & lost) of complex projects at fixed price.  He brought total quality approach to his teams with close follow up, in transparency facing the customers.

He strongly believes in pragmatic use of methodologies, like Merise, SADT, BPR, TCO, Balance scorecard, WBS, SWOT, Activity-Based Costing, Monte Carlo simulation… and Quality approach.  His own approach is an overall and comprehensive understanding of both customer business and IT constraints and abilities in order to get that one names “strategy and IT alignment”.

Finding out what the Value and the Returns the project will provide, how to get it, pushing and pulling to success it, is his challenge.

His consulting company (Value360) is specialized in risks, opportunities and projects valuation.
